This Privacy Policy explains what information myxtape.io collects, how we use it, and what choices you have. We've written it to be readable, not just legally defensible. If something is unclear, email us at [email protected].

1. What We Collect

When you register:

• · Your first name, last name, and email address
• · Your chosen Station ID (username) and password (stored as a cryptographic hash — we never see your plaintext password)
• · Registration application date and approval status

When you use the platform:

• · Audio files and cover images you upload
• · Broadcast metadata: title, description, tags, duration, file format, upload date
• · Comments, ReMYxes, and other content you post
• · Who you follow, block, or like on the platform
• · Play counts and favorites (aggregated, not tracked per-listener)
• · Your optional station bio, location, and website

Automatically collected:

• · IP address — logged at registration and login for security and moderation purposes
• · Browser and device type (via standard HTTP headers, used for debugging)
• · Session cookies — required for login to work

2. What We Do NOT Collect

• ✕ We do not track your listening behavior or build a listening profile
• ✕ We do not use advertising trackers, pixels, or third-party analytics
• ✕ We do not collect payment information (we currently have no paid features)
• ✕ We do not ask for your phone number
• ✕ We do not access your device's microphone, camera, or contacts

3. How We Use Your Information

• · To operate the platform — serving your broadcasts, displaying your profile, enabling follows, ReMYxes, and comments.
• · To review your registration — we manually review applications before approval. Your name and email are reviewed by a human moderator and not shared further.
• · For moderation and safety — IP addresses and account activity logs are used to investigate reports of abuse, enforce bans, and prevent platform misuse.
• · To contact you — we may email you about your account status (approval, denial, ban notices). We do not send marketing emails.
• · To comply with law — if required by a valid legal process (court order, subpoena), we may be obligated to disclose certain information.

4. We Do Not Sell Your Data

Full stop. We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. We run no advertising. Your data exists to power the platform you're using — nothing else.

5. Third-Party Infrastructure

myxtape.io uses the following third-party services to operate. These providers may process your data as part of delivering the service:

• · DigitalOcean — our hosting provider. Your audio files, images, and database records are stored on DigitalOcean infrastructure (App Platform and Spaces object storage), governed by DigitalOcean's Privacy Policy.
• · Google Fonts — we load two typefaces (Special Elite, Share Tech Mono) from Google's font CDN. This may transmit your IP address to Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Cookies

We use one essential cookie: a session cookie that keeps you logged in. Without it, the platform cannot function. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies.

You can clear this cookie by logging out or clearing your browser data. Doing so will end your session.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and uploaded content for as long as your account is active. Moderation logs (recording bans, content removals, etc.) are retained indefinitely for the safety of the platform.

Denied registration applications are retained for 90 days and then deleted. Pending applications that are not acted upon within 30 days are also deleted.

8. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request corrections, and to request deletion of your account and associated data.

To request account deletion, email us at [email protected] from the address associated with your account. We will delete your account and personal information within 30 days. Note that audio files and broadcasts you have uploaded will also be deleted. ReMYxes and comments that others have replied to may leave a trace (e.g., "[deleted]" attribution) to preserve the integrity of conversations.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or UK, you may have additional rights under GDPR or UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

This policy may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
